Our Story
In 1993, husband and wife team Kelly and Adrienne Lumpkin established Alternate Access® out of a home office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Their goal was to provide businesses with the latest advances in computer and telephone technologies which, when combined, streamline operations, deliver optimal customer service, and grow profits. Through their former careers working at IBM and Hewlett Packard, they developed an understanding of how sophisticated technologies should be employed to solve “real” business problems. Initially, these solutions were only available to large organizations. Alternate Access saw that small and medium sized businesses had similar needs to provide state-of-the-art customer service and developed a focus on this market area.
Understanding that each business has a unique environment and work flow, Alternate Access quickly moved to identify “best of breed” communication solutions and built an implementation team to integrate components effectively at client sites for optimal operations efficiency and customer care.
In 2002, Alternate Access partnered with MAS® to create the first implementations of TeleVantage® and MAS. The florist industry was an early and enthusiastic adopter of our solutions, and through our installations, we learned the challenges and opportunities florists face every day. Gaining a deep understanding of our customers operations requirements led us to build a set of applications that all work to help florists streamline their operations and create a sustainable competitive advantage.
